Cradlefin Consultants are recruiting for Agency Care Support Workers to work within Mental Health facilities client covering North Yorkshire and County Durham. We are looking for enthusiastic workers for multiple positions which include supporting people with mental health and learning disabilities within the NHS.
Are you smart, confident, good team player, compassionate and eager to support service users and patients in achieving their preferred care outcomes? Duties will include all aspects of caring including personal care and assistance with daily living activities.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Arranging daily activities
- Building relationships with patients to encourage trust, while listening to their needs and concerns
- Assisting patients with compassion when undertaking normal activities of daily living whilst ensuring that privacy, dignity, and human rights are respected
- Responding to distressed patients in a non-threatening manner and attempt to understand the source of their discomfort
- Providing routine patient care duties at own discretion in accordance with Trust policies, protocols, and guidelines
- Participating in the taking and recording of observations under the direction of the Registered Nurse and report the results to the Nurse in charge
- Assisting in the delivery of patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse
Requirements:
- Right to work in UK
- Mandatory Practical and Online Training
- PMVA Training (GSA)
- DBS (Update Service)
- Two satisfactory professional references
- The ability to cope effectively with challenging behaviour
- Good communication and team working skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
- A minimum of 6 months experience as a Healthcare Assistant (Mental Health) in a hospital setting or studying as a Student Nurse with at least 12 weeks’ clinical placements, studying towards a relevant Nursing degree
