Job Description
Cradlefin Consultants are recrutimg for LC-MS Scientist responsible for the analysis of residues and chemical contaminants in foodstuffs, packaging materials and environmental matrices by LC-MS/MS or GC-MS/MS. In addition, you will contribute to instrument maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, and to deliver training as required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyse samples using established methods and novel techniques.
- Report data to internal teams for timely delivery of external deadlines to accreditation standards.
- Contribute to the development of new LC-MS methods.
- Contribute to instrument maintenance and repair, training others as required.
- Be aware of and follow the appropriate quality assurance and safety procedures.
- Write and work from Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to defined quality standards.
- Deliver training to internal staff and external delegates
Appliacnt Specifications:
- Good knowledge of Mass Spectrometry theory/ practical and knowledge of wet chemistry techniques.
- Essential, a minimum of 1 year of experience running GC-MS/MS or LC-MS/MS (and/or data processing).
- Masslynx, Masshunter or Chromeleon training preferred.
- Good IT skills and the ability to pick up the use of bespoke software to a high level quickly.
- Experience of sample extraction and clean-up.
- Ability to learn and implement new laboratory techniques.
- Self-motivated and have an ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues and other team members across the program.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Experience of operating within a quality system (e.g. UKAS or GLP)
