Job Description
We are recruiting for an experienced Physiotherapist to work in a Clinical Health Team Physiotherapy team responsible for the provision of a specialist physiotherapy and aquatic therapy service for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs based in the London Borough of Sutton.
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver service activities and manage small caseloads under the supervision of more experienced staff to ensure intended outcomes for customers and the Council are delivered within agreed service standards
- Where relevant manage a small team of staff to ensure they are delivering services within agreed standards
- The delivery of health inputs provided by trained clinicians specialist in the field of learning disabilities where needs cannot be met by mainstream services alone
- Contributing to service developments and using knowledge about needs; effectiveness of current services and future demand to inform and contribute towards strategic commissioning.
- Imparting skills by teaching and training others such as social care providers; voluntary sector staff; and other health professionals
Qualifications and skills required:
- Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
- HCPC Registration
- CSP Membership
- Experience of working with people with learning disabilities
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Experience of working within hydrotherapy pool
- Ability to organise and respond efficiently to complex information
- Good knowledge and application of current physio trends and interventions relevant to client group
- Knowledge of Halliwick swimming method or equivalent
- Understanding of physio outcome measures
- Good knowledge of learning disability legislation and current practice
- Ability to work autonomously and set own priorities within limited time scales
- Car Driver/Owner and ability to travel
