Cradlefin Consultants are recruiting for a Paediatric Occupational Therapist – Specialist Practitioner (Band 6) work in a range of settings as an autonomous practitioner, providing high quality paediatric occupational therapy to support children and young people with disabilities to achieve their potential. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support children and young people’s occupational therapy needs and provide specialist advice to other disciplines covering Kingston & Richmond areas of London.

We are looking for Occupational Therapists to join our friendly, dynamic team dedicated to excellence, innovation and compassionate care. This will include working with the multi-disciplinary team contributing to the development of integrated services for early years, children, young people, families, carers and schools. The Occupational Therapy team is comprised of seven full time and part time OTs.

Skills and experience:

  1. Experience of clinical assessment and intervention as an Occupational Therapist
  2. Passionate about and/or have experience in working as an OT in paediatrics
  3. Working knowledge of child development, neuro-development and childhood occupations
  4. Able to plan and prioritise workload, demonstrate initiative through being consistently solution focused
  5. Skilled in assessment planning, implementing and evaluating treatment, complying with professional and service standards and working as an autonomous practitioner
  6. Able to prepare clearly written reports for use by multiple agencies
  7. Knowledge, training and experience of a using range of therapeutic techniques and approaches, including non-standardised and standardised assessments
  8. Knowledge/experience of physical and developmental disabilities and their impact on occupational performance
  9. Experience and participate in clinical audits/research
  10. Able to communicate sensitive, condition related information to clients using empathy and reassurance and able to reflect and critically appraise own performance
  11. Able to provide and implement OT programmes within a specialist field and work collaboratively to upskill school staff and caregivers through training, sharing advice and strategies to support the child/young person
  12. Supervision of students and / or support/junior staff
  13. Commitment to lifelong learning, willingness to travel to other sites and work flexibly
  14. Strong organisational abilities including: time management, creative-thinking, problem-solving and multitasking
  15. Personal determination, drive, energy and ambition to overcome and achieve challenging objectives, celebrate success and deliver excellent outcomes for children and young people
  16. Commitment to resource-sharing and collaborative working within Achieving for Children and across organisational boundaries in the best interests of children, young people and families
  17. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills that are open, honest, persuasive and pragmatic, including excellent negotiation and influencing skills

Qualifications:

  1. Diploma/BSc/Graduate Diploma/MSc in Occupational Therapy
  2. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
  3. Additional short specialist courses relevant to your own clinical area and documented evidence of CPD (maintained portfolio)
