Job Description

Cradlefin Consultants are recruiting for a Consultant Radiologist with a special interest in MSK and Chest Imaging to join a team of professionals. This post will be responsible for providing comprehensive diagnostic radiology services including the provision of a range of MDT (Multi Displinary Team) and on-call services.The succesful candidate must have experience working at consultant level with exam intensumed or acute hospital environment delivering reliable service.

Main responsibilities:

  • The appointed candidate will work with other cross-sectional radiologists in post who already deliver a significant volume of service audited for quality assurance
  • The post will entail regular MDT meetings co-ordinated with other team members and built into the job plan
  • Excellent core cross-sectional imaging skills and good spoken and written English are essential pre-requisites to enable the Trust to deliver its service objectives
  • A strong foundation in general body and neuro imaging is essential for delivering a sustainable 24 hour imaging service for this Acute Trust with a busy Emergency Assessment Unit, Trauma Unit, Regional Oncological centre, a Heart and Lung Centre and a dynamic Stroke Treatment Unit with endarterectomy facilities on site
  • The post holder will contribute to the long established 7 day working arrangement and the evening on site consultant radiologist cover until 8pm

Job responsibilities:

  • To support, develop and enhance the general imaging service
  • Contribute to the high quality consultant-led diagnostic radiology service a
  • Contribute to the large volume of work undertaken by the team of radiologists already in post. This may include fluoroscopic, ultrasound and CT guided procedures
  • Participate in an on-call service, which is at present, partially covered by an external teleradiology company
  • Support other imaging developments within the Trus
  • Provide evidence-based care for all patients
  • To have adhered at all times to appropriate clinical and quality standard
  • Liaise effectively and on a timely basis with colleagues, General Practitioners, community services, and all healthcare agencies
  • Maintain and promote team and multi-disciplinary work
  • Participate fully in the management of the Departments and to liaise closely with the respective General Manager and the Clinical Director

Requirements:

  • MB BS or equivalent
  • FRCR or equivalent
  • CCT (or within 6 months of date of interview) or on specialist register
  • Extensive experience in diagnostic radiology
  • Training in relevant subspecialty for the post
  • Evidence of participation in regional colorectal MDT, CT colonography & pelvic MRI reporting
  • Independently perform joint injections
